Femmepreneur spotlight: Deborah Ugochukwu, TIA A academy.

Deborah Ugochukwu is an Amazon Bestselling Author, a goal coach, speaker and an entrepreneur advocate.

She is the founder and Lead Igniter at The Ignite Academy (TIA), a community where Goal getters are ignited and equipped to break new grounds.

Deborah is a member of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) and has also been shortlisted by AFRESIST amongst the top 50 finalists in Africa for the Youth Leadership Program 2019 which will be taking place in Nairobi, Kenya.

Deborah’s story was born out of the passion and burning desire to help create a better community, nation builders and Africa as a whole. She harnessed this passion after having graduated amongst the best in her class having studied Medical Laboratory Science in Imo State University, Owerri but yet found it extremely difficult to get a hospital for internship which is pre-requisite to completing the requirements for her profession.

Almost frustrated and depressed by the way things were done in the country, and realizing that just like her, there were many other graduates suffering the same fate, she started a mentorship and empowerment movement which has so far yielded amazing testimonials and changed over 1000 lives.

Deborah loves to travel, teach, inspire, read, meet new people and learn new things.

In this interview, we got to know more about Deborah and her initiative.

Why did you become an entrepreneur? *
I became an entrepreneur because I discovered I had just the power to help create the life I want for myself.

I took the entrepreneurial journey because I was tired of waiting for the government to make decisions for me and I believed in my ability to create a better life for myself and community

What are your major success stories and challenges so far? *
At The Ignite Academy, we hosted a goal setting challenge in January where youths were taught and assisted to set achievable goals for the year. This 3 days class was a huge success and it’s testimonials are heartwarming.

We also successful kicked off a “7 day Consistency Challenge Boot camp” where participants are taught and guided to deal with inconsistency and become easily consistent so they can he able to achieve their goals.

Our challenges so far have been expanding our audience with an offline approach but we are currently working on that.
