We have aptly tagged it (Get your business) GYBO 2018. This post is the first of this series and we will be walking you through how you can submit your business listing on Google. This is very basic as far as search engine optimization (SEO) is concerned.
Why do you need a business listing? According to Google, Your listing appears right when people are searching for your business or businesses like yours on Google Search or Maps. Google My Business makes it easy to create and update your listing—so you can stand out, and bring customers in.
How do you go about it?
Open your internet browser, make sure you are logged in to your Google account then input business.google.com
The process is really simple. Just follow the instructions. Input your email address ( your Google email), Business name, location, add pictures, working days and hours and get verified.
Once your business is verified, it will be listed on Google and when someone searches for your type of business in your locality, your details show right on top in the map section. As an example, you can search for gym in Oluyole estate Ibadan. At the top, you should see a map showing registered gyms followed by a detailed list of these gyms. would be one of the gyms you see.
After submitting your listing, you should ask your clients to search for you and drop reviews or give you stars to increase your online credibility.
Please note that Google is not the only place you can list your business to boost your search ranking.
